Use a Cruise as a Fund Raiser, Heres How
Carnival Cruise Lines and Cruise Planners would like to help raise money for
your non-profit organization by using a cruise as a fundraiser.
Carnival will match funds raised by your organization: up to $5 per person
per day (first & second passenger in stateroom).
The total contribution check, based upon the actual number of state-rooms
that sail, will be made payable to your non-profit organization and mailed
after the sailing.
Your organization may choose to raise funds by marking up the group rate or
by taking the value of the earned free berths.
Here are some examples:
1. Group marks up price by $60 per cabin on a 7 day cruise
Group sells 25 cabins: 25 x $60 = $1500
Carnival will match UP TO $70 per cabin but group only raises $60,
so Carnival pays: $60 x 25 cabins = $1500
TOTAL FUNDRAISING = $3000
2. Group marks up price by $100 per cabin on a 4 day cruise
Group sells 25 cabins: 25 x $100 = $2500
Carnival will match UP TO $40 per cabin on a 4 day cruise,
so Carnival pays: $40 x 25 cabins = $1000
TOTAL FUNDRAISING = $3500
3. Group marks up price by $70 per cabin on a 7 day cruise
Group sells 25 cabins: 25 x $70 = $1750
Carnival will match UP TO $70 per cabin on a 7 day cruise,
so Carnival pays: $70 x 25 cabins = $1750
TOTAL FUNDRAISING = $3500
4. PLUS - for every 15 cabins (30 paid guests), group earns 1 free cabin (2
berths). You can convert the free cabin into dollars and add the value of the
cabin to the TOTAL FUNDRAISING.
5. OR - Use the free cabin to accommodate a special guest, celebrity, VIP at
no extra cost to you*. (*gov't taxes are additional)
6. OR - the free cabin could be raffled off or sold at auction. Sell 1000
tickets @ $5 each for a chance to win a cruise for two. Who wouldn't buy a 1 in
1000 chance to win? Add extra dollars to the TOTAL FUNDRAISING. (free cabin
must be taken with the group)
IT"S THAT SIMPLE!
We do all the work, and all you have to do is get the word out by promoting
the cruise in your organization newsletter, newspapers, fliers and handouts,
however you can. We will even provide you with promotional materials,
posters, postcards, whatever we can do to help. Nothing is too big for us to
handle!
